Moving to Seattle, eh? My biggest suggestion (though it won't apply until next year) go to Bumbershoot! It's art and music heaven. Any specific types of places you're interested in?

and thanks for the advice! I will be there in 3 days =-oNo more than the rest of Seattle. There are a lot of hippies, but of late it's more rock/indie stuff than hippie stuff, and the artisan crafts there are amazing. Band-wise, this year Nada Surf, Neko Case, Beck, Band of Horses, Stone Temple Pilots, The Offspring, Death Cab for Cutie, Superchunk, Old 97s, and TONS of amazing local bands were there!
